What’s up everybody!! It’s finally March which I have been looking forward to because I have two weeks holiday, along with my birthday and I am excited to get all the reading done!
So, I have set myself an ambitious TBR, but I have chosen quite a few shorter reads. I’ve been in a big slump so I’m hoping just reading a huge range of short books will kick-start me into reading a lot again!
A Dark and Hollow Star by Ashley Shuttleworth
I have three pre-orders I would like to get to during March, and this one arrived late in February. It’s quite a thick book being 400 pages but it features Fae and a royalty which I am a sucker for!
Chain of Iron by Cassandra Clare
My rune edition of this has arrived already but I don’t want to read my nice copy so I have to wait another couple of days before the normal edition arrives. But that gives me chance to recap what happens in the first book, but I’m curious to see how this plays out!
The Queen’s Gambit by Walter Trevis
I completely I forgot I reserved this book, and I’m sure there’s going to be reservations for it so I need to read it real quick. This is the novel that inspired the TV show (which I loved!) And follows Beth as she struggles balancing stardom in Chess and substance abuse.
Grave Matter by Juno Dawson
Another Library book that I picked up based on how short it is and it has an interesting premise about a person called Samuel losing his partner Eliza and ventures into a terrifying world and makes a pact of some kind… It’s only 140 pages so I’m sure I can do it in a sitting!
Riot Baby by Tochi Onyebuchi
Riot Baby has been recommended so many times that it feels like its been out longer than a year but it sounds really intriguing. Following two siblings with supernatural powers, it looks into structural racism and brutality in America.
Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor
Yes, this is on my TBR for another month because I didn’t actually get to any of my buddy reads during February… I don’t think I’m ready to read this!
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
This book has been sitting on my shelves for the longest time and I thought this is it, I’m going to read it and see if I want to carry on with the series! I love Dystopian books and so does my friend who I’m buddy reading it with, so it will be nice to chat to her about what happens!
This Winter by Alice Oseman
I can’t read this one till my at least the 12th cause its a birthday present but I so enjoy Alice Oseman’s novellas especially as they’re part of the Nick and Charlie universe who’s graphic novels series is brilliant!
City of Ghosts, Tunnel of Bones and Bridge of Souls by Victoria Schwab
I am doing two personal readathons this month, the first being the Cassidy Blake series where I read all three books over a weekend because they’re such fast reads. I’ve been wanting to reread this for months now but have been putting it off and perhaps I may do a blog post surrounding my reading experience!
The Sin Eater’s Daughter, Hold Back the Tide, State of Sorrow and Song of Sorrow by Melinda Salisbury
Another readathon I’m doing is trying out all of Melinda Salisbury’s books on my birthday week! I’ve only read Hold Back the Tide which was my favourite book of 2020 and I’m sure I’m going to love the others. I decided not to read the rest of the Sin Eater’s trilogy because I have to leave some books until the author publishes some more!
What do you want to read this month?
